Outlook:
Although February is known for cold weather and staying indoors, it is undoubtedly a great month for fishing. Crappie are chewing on medium shiner minnows, jigs, and beetle-spins. Bream are chewing on red worms on the bottom. Bass are hitting mostly rubber worms and crankbaits. Finally, your redfish, black drum, and sheepshead are chewing on shrimp, mud minnows, or some Berkley Gulp minnows. Brace the cold, load the boat, and head to the water. Even though some rivers may still be high, there have been many fish caught recently. Come by and see us for some tips and tricks… we may even know a spot for you to try!
Where’s Hot?:
For freshwater, the Waccamaw river has undoubtedly been producing the most fish as of lately. Look for the Pee Dee’s water levels to come down over the month and start producing more fish. For the salt, Murrel’s Inlet has been producing some very nice slot fish.
